Meeting at ANAU
On February 9, 2023, within the framework of the "Animal Identification and Registration in Armenia" project, a joint meeting of the "Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development" (CARD) Foundation, Animal Identification and Registration project specialists and the staff of students and lecturers of the Armenian National Agrarian University (ANAU), was held. The professors and students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, as well as students of the College of ANAU were present.
The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint the participants with the implementation of the Animal Identification and Registration system in RA, as well as to transfer technical knowledge about the animal registration process, expecting that this topic will be included in the lecturing subjects in the future.
During the meeting, CARD Foundation's Food Safety and Animal Health Expert Sergey Chakhmakhchyan presented the current situation in detail, highlighting problems, importance, principles of using the system and ear tag attachment methodology related to the implementation of the Animal Identification and Registration System.
Arevik Abovyan, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of ANAU, and the lecturers emphasized the importance of cooperation with CARD and expressed the hope that these courses will become a part of continuous education, contributing to the development of the important agricultural sector for the country.
