Visit to Georgia in the scope of the AI&R project
Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Economy of the RA to study the animal identification and registration project initiated in the Republic of Georgia a decade ago, the visit to Georgia of the "Cattle Animal Identification Identification and Registration" project's Armenian delegation was organized at the end of December last year for exchanging experience. The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, the "Center for Agricultural Services" SNCO, the CARD Foundation, the ANI PAS system, and regional veterinary-epidemiologists.
In Georgia, they were hosted by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) representatives who carry out the nationwide project for the animal identification and traceability system implementation.
Topics of vast interest for the Armenian delegation were discussed including the monitoring system of the AI&R system, mobile application, writing off slaughtered animals, and slaughterhouse regulations and the import of movement reports into the electronic system, the operation and role of slaughterhouses for the project, etc.
On the second day of the visit, the delegation visited a farm and a slaughterhouse to get acquainted with the work of the AI&R system.
The experience and information gained during the experience exchange visit of the Armenian delegation to Georgia will be used to improve and adapt the existing and created systems in the structure of the animal identification and registration project in Armenia.
***The animal identification and registration project is implemented with the funding of the Government of the Republic of Armenia by the "Center for Agricultural Services" SNCO. The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) provides financial and technical support to the project through the CARD Foundation.
