Beginning of the year was marked by two important initiatives, the closure of the “Animal Health Management in Armenia and Georgia, Phase II” (AHM II) project on one hand, and the launch of the “Holding and Animal Identification and Registration (HAI&R) in Armenia: Preparation Project”, on the other. Both projects were made possible due to generous support and financing from the Austrian Development Agency.

Our employees Arman Ohanyan, Narek Tadevosyan and student of the Ag. University, Arsen Arsenyan, who was enrolled as an intern at CARD, participated at the Animal Nutrition Symposium on sows feeding and care, organized by “Topigs Norsvin Hellas” company in Athens.
The event aimed at the introduction of specific animal feeding issues in relation to the genetic material and genetic programs, offered by Topigs, for the purpose of pig production efficiency increase through the optimized diet.

At the invitation of CARD foundation, “Austrian Genetic” company’s director Mr. Peter Kreuzhuber and Head of the Associations of Austrian Cattle Breeders and Veterinarians (ZAR), Mr. Martin Stegelberg visited Armenia to familiarize with the stockbreeding, educational and scientific situation in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the quality characteristics of the generation of animals, received from the Austrian Flegvi breed.

Recently CARD representatives had an opportunity to join the Trade Mission of NL companies to Georgia, organized around the Regional Agro Expo, held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
