We would like to inform you that on July 24, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the “Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development” (CARD) Foundation has decided the following:

• To relieve Mr. Gagik Sardaryan from his position as Director of the Foundation as of August 1 of this year, based on his submitted resignation letter,

• To appoint Mr. Gagik Sardaryan as a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees as of August 1 of this year,

• To appoint Ms. Sona Telunts, the Foundation’s Programs Director, as Director of the Foundation as of August 1 of this year.

"Dear All,

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the CARD Foundation.

Over the past two decades, together with its affiliated organizations, the Foundation has provided vital support and services to tens of thousands of food producers, processors, government institutions, and international partners.

This milestone also marks my 20th year of service as Director of the Foundation. If at any point there were shortcomings in my work or if some of my decisions could have been better, I sincerely ask for your understanding.

Recognizing the natural need for generational change—both in nature and in society—I have decided to end my service as Director and hereby submit my resignation for the Board’s consideration.

I believe the time has come for the Foundation to reintroduce itself to society, to local and international partners, with fresh programs, new approaches, a renewed image, and a bold new vision.

Given the current circumstances, I would like to propose the candidacy of Sona Telunts for the position of Director of the Foundation.

I have known Sona for over 10 years. During this time, I have witnessed her professional growth. Due to her dedication and professional enhancement, Sona has advanced from being a research specialist to leading a complex program in Meghri region.

In recent years, Sona has successfully represented the Foundation in her role as Project Director, building strong networks of collaboration with a wide range of partners. She possesses a deep understanding of programmatic requirements and the needs of rural communities, along with substantial experience in working with donors and stakeholders. We share a common vision on agricultural and rural development priorities.

Sona is highly respected by farmers, donors, and government representatives alike. I am confident that with her appointment, the Foundation will embark on a new and progressive chapter in its development—one that will further strengthen its position as a dynamic, independent, and competitive NGO in Armenia.
