USAID Development of Private Extension Service System in Armenia

Development of Private Extension Service System in Armenia (DPESSA) project is aimed at the establishment of private extension service system in Armenia through promotion of private agricultural and business development services, improved access to world’s best farm and agribusiness supplies, financial services and up-to-date technical information.
The DPESSA project messages will focus on the main objective of the project, which is to make agricultural private extension services available to every farmer in Armenia through the network of Farm Service Centers (FSCs). CARD will also incorporate USAID’s primary message – i.e. that the aid is from the American People (or USAID) into the narrative of program materials.

Launch of the 7th Farm Service Center in Armenia
The Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Foundation has established a Farm Service Center in Norapat community of Armavir province, within the framework of the USAID-funded Partnerships for Rural Prosperity (PRP) program. The specialized center will focus on the development of the horticulture (garden cultivation and management) sector in Armenia and will promote advanced techniques and practices of farm business development. USAID-Funded Farm and Veterinary Service Center Opened in Hayravank
The Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Foundation, with the support of USAID, opened a new Farm and Veterinary Service Center in the Hayravank community of Gegharkunik province. The facility was opened under the framework of the USAID-funded Development of Private Extension Service System in Armenia (DPESSA) project. The new specialized center will provide area veterinarians, farmers, and agribusinesses with technical and business assistance to address animal health and husbandry issues.
