Meeting with Veterinary Students on AI&R and Sector Development
Emphasizing the key role of veterinary specialists in the process of animal identification and registration, maintaining animal health, and ensuring food safety, a meeting was held on May 12 at the CARD Foundation with students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Armenian National Agrarian University. The purpose of the meeting was to present the importance of the Animal Identification and Registration (AIR) program, to discuss opportunities for professional involvement in both public and private sectors, and to encourage the participation of young specialists in the development of the field. Students from different academic years of the university participated in the meeting. During the meeting, an engaging and substantive discussion took place, during which existing challenges in the sector were raised, as well as issues related to professional development and employment opportunities for young specialists, and the future prospects of the veterinary system. As a result of the discussion, the importance of actively involving the younger generation in sectoral processes was emphasized, and an agreement was reached to organize such meetings regularly in order to gather the professional opinions and suggestions of future specialists, taking into account that it is the younger generation that will continue and develop the field. ***The program is implemented with funding from the Government of the Republic of Armenia by the “Agricultural Services Center” SNCO. Financial and technical support for the program is provided by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) through the CARD Foundation.
