Farm and veterinary service center opened in Mets Parni community
Artur Khachatryan, RA Minister of Agriculture, participated in the official opening ceremony of the Veterinary and Agricultural Service Center in Mets Parni community, Lori Region. Hrant Margaryan, The governor of Lori Region, Gagik Sardaryan the director of CARD Foundation, Gegham Gevorgyan, the director of International Fund for Agricultural Development and others were present at the event.
The center was established through joint efforts of RA Ministry of Agriculture, Fund for Agricultural Development, Fuler Center for Housing, CARD Foundation, within the frames of CARMAC 2 project, supported by the World Bank. The specialized center is aimed at the development of livestock in Armenia and will promote the development of advanced technology and the experience of the farming business.
Welcoming the participants of the event, Artur Khachatryan mentioned, that livestock breeding is one of the priority directions in Armenia and has a great potential for development.
“Livestock breeding cannot be without veterinary, and we are sure, that with this step we will promote the development of livestock breeding not only in Mets Parni, Lori Region but also throughout Armenia. In case of certain problems, we are always ready to respond and fix them as soon as possible”, - mentioned Artur Khachatryan.
Highlighting the importance of the center's opening, Hrant Margaryan, the governor of Lori Region hopes that this initiative will help reduce the emigration.
The center will provide the farms with complete service packages and will serve as a connecting link between farmers and international companies. The center is equipped with modern veterinary tools and artificial insemination. It will play an essential role in establishing market connections, as well as will make financial resources available for farmers and SMEs. The center will cooperate with veterinarians and artificial insemination technicians from surrounding communities. Trainings by Armenian and foreign specialists will be organized in the center.
As Gagik Palyan, the governor of Mets Parni community mentioned, the center will serve not only Mets Parni but also other communities in Spitak Region. Gegham Gevorgyan, the director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development informed that such centers will be built in other regions of Armenia also.
